Sonoff SC is a WiFi indoor air quality monitoring station based on the ESP8266 and ATMega328 (Arduino). The home environment monitoring device is an air quality detector and an air pollution monitoring center. The Home Environment Monitor can detect current temperature, humidity, light intensity, air quality (particles), and even sound level (noise pollution) and send real-time data directly to the iOS / Android APP EWeLink. The power of this home air quality monitor is micro USB 5V.
The most important function of the SC is to support setting various smart scenarios to trigger the switching of other devices. With environmental data, we can use intelligent scenarios to make traditional home appliances smart. Sonoff said smart scenes allow one or more Sonoff SC conditions (temperature, humidity, light intensity, air quality, and sound level) to be set, which triggers the turning on or off of other devices when conditions meet preset levels.
This means that we can use the Sonoff SC to explore more possibilities. For example, by collecting real-time air quality data, we can set up scenes to turn on/off ventilation fans to ensure fresh indoor air, according to changing house lighting, lighting can be automatically adjusted to the most suitable brightness.
If the collected data does not exceed the update threshold, the data will be updated every two minutes. If a major change occurs, it will be updated to the AWS IOT server.
Sonoff SC is hack-friendly, we use the ATMega328 controller with Arduino code to read sensor data and use ESP8266 for wifi communication. You can get Sonoff SC schematics, Arduino code in our wiki.
Note: Although it looks like a speaker, it is not a speaker and it does not support Bluetooth or SD card
